Broan-NuTone Offers Widest Breadth of Bathroom Ventilation Products

With the addition of Recessed Fans with LED Lights, Broan-NuTone®, now offers the widest array of bathroom fan/light models on the market.

“We were the first to offer a Recessed Fan/Light, and now we have four distinct offerings in this series,” says Patrick Nielsen, marketing manager, ventilation fans, Broan-NuTone.

The company unveiled its first recessed model featuring incandescent lighting in 2004. Over the years, Broan-NuTone, the leader in residential ventilation, has continued to introduce models with industry-leading features.

The bulb in the Broan-NuTone LED recessed fan/light will last at least 25,000 hours, compared with compact fluorescent (CFL) bulbs, which last 3,000 to 15,000 hours, and incandescent bulbs, which last about 1,000 hours.

The other main advantage of LEDs is that, unlike CFLs, they don’t contain mercury. When a CFL breaks, homeowners are exposed to high levels of dangerous vaporizing mercury. Mercury can also be damaging to the environment if it ends up in landfills.

A further benefit of LEDs is their ability to offer greater dimming capabilities when paired with the right dimmer. LEDs also turn on instantly.

In addition to the LED Recessed Fan/Light, more than 75 BROAN and NuTone ENERGY STAR qualified ventilation fans that meet green building codes are designed, engineered, manufactured and customer supported in the U.S.

How do I select the right Fantech Premium Bath Fan for my bathroom?

According to the guidelines of The Home Ventilating Institute (HVI) bathrooms up to 100 sq ft are sized at 1 CFM per sq ft of floor area. Bathrooms over 100 sq ft are sized by the fixtures in the room. Allow 50 CFM per standard tub, shower or toilet. Whirlpool, garden and jetted tubs are calculated at 100 CFM. Example: Bathroom 9’ x 7’ = 63 sq ft you require the PB100 or PBW110. Example: Bathroom 11’ x 14’ = 154 sq ft, 1 Toilet + 1 Shower + 1 Tub = 150 CFM you require the PB270-2. Note: HVI recommends that Steam Showers use a separate fan on a timer so that the fan may be shut off during shower use and then run afterwards to dry out the shower stall. For proper airflow in typical installations (when duct losses aren’t calculated) use the 0.4” WG (static pressure) rating point for the correct fan selection. Bathroom doors need to have at least ¾” clearance to the finished floor to allow for make up air.

 

Leviton and Honda Increase Customer Satisfaction of EV Owners

Beginning June 1, 2013 all Honda Fit EV leases will include the Leviton 32 amp, 240 volt (Level 2) electric vehicle charging station. Leviton’s enhanced Level 2 charging station offers customers significantly reduced charging times, and provides unmatched convenience and performance right from the dealership.

The Leviton 32 amp charging station utilizes Leviton’s patent pending “plugged-in” design and has been tested to exceed National Electric Code and Underwriters Laboratory (UL) standards. Also, it provides safety devices not found in other charging stations in the marketplace, including a watertight enclosure with NEMA 4 rating and proprietary GFCI technology. It is backed by an industry leading product warranty, and lifetime telephone support.

To obtain the new Leviton charging station, new Honda Fit EV customers need only contact their local dealership to arrange delivery. The charging station has been rigorously tested and verified by Honda – in both the USA and Japan – for use with the Fit EV.

In addition to the 32 amp charger, customers will also receive a proprietary installation kit that, once installed, enables them to remove and re-install the electric vehicle charging station without any special tools. This modularity enables customers to easily take their charging station with them in case they move – an important consideration for customers.

Installation services are optionally available through Leviton at the customer’s expense – only the charging station hardware is provided as part of the lease agreement.
